LaVerne LaBaisse
LaVerne LaGaisse, 77 of Fairchild, WI passed peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2024, in his home as he wished.
LaVerne was born October 31, 1946, to Charles Peter and Lorraine Marva (Batterson), Sr. in Rockford, Illinois. Graduated from Belvedere High in 1964, he then joined the Air Force. After he got out of the military, he went to work at the Belvedere Chrysler plant. In 1976, LaVerne moved to Humbird, Wisconsin to work for the Alma Center School District as the Custodian Manager. LaVerne retired in 2009 after 33 years.
November 7, 1969, LaVerne married Cheryl Cole. Cheryl passed in 2002. December 4, 2004, LaVerne then married Betty Nelson.
LaVerne was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Commander of the Post 320 of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending his time RVing and winters in Mississippi. He loved to salmon fish in Kewaunee Wisconsin, read or watch western movies, watching the Green Bay Packers and just relax.
LaVerne is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Peter and Lorraine Marva, and his sister Elodie Lorraine Zeien
Surviving LaVerne is his brother Charles LaGaisse, Jr., his wife Betty, her children from previous marriage, Peggy (Mark) Jones, JoAnn (Tim Ojnecheck) Lightfoot, Roger Nelson, Butch (Nancy) Nelson, Deb (Mike) Bemis.
