Arlo Luedtke
Arlo Luedtke, 69, of Ludington Township, rural Augusta, passed away peacefully in the loving care of his wife and children on Friday morning, May 31, 2024. Since December of 2023 Arlo had been on Mayo Home Hospice.

Arlo Ralph Luedtke, son of Arlo and Cora (LaRose) Luedtke was born on the 4th. of July, 1954. He was raised with his 8 siblings in Ludington Township, where he attended White Country School. He later attended Augusta Elementary and High School. Arlo had lived with his 2 children in Ludington Township in Eau Claire County and Sigel Township in Chippewa County before he was united in marriage to Ary Basacker on January 13, 1992, in Chippewa Falls. Arlo and Ary lived in Sigel Township before building their present home and moving back to Ludington.

For over 30 years Arlo was employed with the highway department of Eau Claire County, retiring in 2009. Since his retirement he had enjoyed more time fishing and hunting but also spent countless hours on various projects. He enjoyed working as a mechanic and offering his time helping others whenever needed. He truly was a “jack of all trades.” With Ary he made several enjoyable trips to Idaho to visit her family. 

Arlo’s memory will live on the hearts of those who will dearly missed him, Ary his loving wife of 32 years; son Tom Luedtke of Augusta; daughter Tracy (Simon Robinson) Luedtke of Chicago; step-son Troy Nelson of Minneapolis; Grandpa to Brysen and Vera Halvorson and Pops to, Brenden & Melissa Halverson all of Gresham, WI; 5 brothers, Jack and Sharmay Luedtke of Ocala, FL; Daniel and Diane Luedtke of Augusta, Vern and Wendy Luedtke of Fall Creek, Pat and Sandie Luedtke of Osakis, MN, Warren Luedtke of Greenwood; sister, Eileen and Henry Lane of Cadott; sister-in-law, Karen Luedtke of Augusta; god daughter Danielle (Murphy) Kmieciak; Ary’s siblings and their spouses, Steve & Peggy (Basacker) Coach-Eau Claire, Robert Jr. and Gertrude Basacker of Strum, James Basacker of Barnes, Anson and Matthew Basacker of Eau Claire, Sabino & Yvonne (Basacker) Hernandez of Barnes;several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Arlo wouldn’t want us to forget his furry little friends that were also an important part of his life, Dozer and Theodore “Teddy”.

Arlo was preceded in death by his father Arlo on Feb. 26, 1975; mother Cora on June 14, 2012; brothers, John on April 8, 2010, Dennis on April 10, 2019; and nephew Adam Luedtke on September 2, 2016.

A Celebration of Arlo’s Life will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta on Saturday, June 22, 2024, starting at 11 a.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. 

 Burial will be held in the Ludington Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to take this opportunity to send a special thank you to the Mayo Hospice Team, Mayo Hospital both in Eau Claire and Rochester, the oncologists, all the nurses and the various other health workers he came in contact throughout his illness. The care and support given to Arlo will never be forgotten.
