Rosie Von Haden
Rosetta “Rosie” Von Haden

Rosetta Margaret Von Haden, 78, of Osseo, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, with her loving family by her side.

Rosie, daughter of Bernard and Emma (Weissinger) Weiss was born Oct. 17, 1946, in the Rock Falls area of Pepin County. After she graduated from high school she was employed by Fabri-Tek in Eau Claire.

Rosie met Marvin Von Haden while dancing at Fournier’s Ball Room in Eau Claire and the two eventually married on October 16, 1965, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta.

The couple lived for a short time in Osseo before moving back to Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta. Here they farmed with Marvin’s parents for 7 years and it was also during this time that their 4 children were born, twins Dan and Diane, followed by David and then Don. In 1972 they moved to their own farm in Lincoln Township rural Augusta, and farmed here for an additional 33 years. When they retired from farming in 2005, they still wanted to continue working so both Rosie and Marvin took jobs with Younkers Department Store in Eau Claire, working there together for 8 more years.

While farming Rosie also discovered a real interest in crafting. When they left Younkers, both Rosie and Marvin continued crafting and was even joined by her parents and younger sister and their craft group became know as “Family Creations.” In all Rosie truly enjoyed crafting for over 30 years and this business/hobby not only kept her active but allowed her to meet many wonderful people along the way.

For the past 19 years Rosie and Marvin had made their home in Osseo where she enjoyed tending to her flowers around her home and on her deck. She especially loved the time spent going to see her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities.
In recent years she struggled with many health issues but through it all remained strong. Rosie will be remembered as one with a strong faith, whose faith and family were her life.

She was currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church having transferred her membership from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church-Bears Grass.

Rosie will be deeply missed by Marvin, her loving husband of 59 years; daughter, Diane (Dan) Luedtke of Augusta, 3 sons, Dan (Dawn) Von Haden of Fall Creek, David Von Haden and Don Von Haden both of Augusta; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Price, Trevor (Jocelyn)Luedtke, Alex (Liz) Von Haden, Amanda (Luke) Luchterhand, Justin (Kristy) Von Haden; 12 great grandchildren, Nathan, Riley, Brennen, Mason, Chase and Kenzie Price, Landyn and Maci Luedtke, Trip and Otto Luchterhand, Jeffery and Cody Von Haden; 4 sisters, Bernadine Weiss of Mondovi, Linda (Larry) Reckin of Elmwood, Dolly (Gordy) Berger, Deb (Doug) Gruber all of Mondovi: 2 brothers, Bernie (Sandy) Weiss of Mondovi and Ben (Jeanne) Weiss of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews.
