Gail Bremel
Gail Bremel, aged 92, passed away on November 27, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Gail was born on May 14, 1932 in Augusta, WI, where she grew up on the family farm. She would walk everyday to Diamond Valley School greeting the neighbor’s dogs. After graduating from Augusta High School, she attended the School of Nursing at Luther Hospital and, later, became a registered nurse at North Ridge Care Center.
Gail grew up attending Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she was baptized on June 19, 1932, and confirmed on Oct 13, 1946, with her confirmation verse, 1 Corinthians 6 verse 20. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in you body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

It was also at Grace Lutheran Church that Gail was united in marriage to Herbert Bremel on April 25, 1954. The couple began their married life together in Eau Claire until 1959, when they moved to Silver Bay, MN. In 1966, they moved to New Hope, MN, before retiring on Big McKenzie Lake near Spooner, WI, in 1995.

Gail loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at the lake taking boat rides, doing puzzles, playing dominos, and singing Auld Lang Syne at New Year’s. In her free time, she enjoyed feeding birds, gardening, knitting and watching the Vikings and Packers.
Gail is survived by her children, Tom (Tracy) Bremel, Diana (Mark) Maetzold, Dan (Barb) Bremel; her grandchildren, Cole, Amarie, Madeline, McKenzie, Maddy, Claire, Sophie; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herb; son, David; and granddaughter, Alana.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.

Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Fall Creek. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
