Lois Claire Hall, 90, of Bloomer and formally of Augusta, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of February 1st, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Lois, daughter to Frank and Niada (Zank) Howe was born on August 6th, 1934 in the city of Augusta. She grew up in Eau Claire as the oldest of 6 children, making memories in the house on Niagara Street that her father built. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1952 and worked for Nagel-Hart Tractor. In December of 1951, she met Douglas W. Hall, the man who would become her husband on October 17th, 1953. Lois and Doug lived all their married life (just short of 50 years!) in Augusta, most of those years in their beloved brick farmhouse on County Road R. Lois worked for the Augusta Nursing Home from 1965 until her retirement in 1995. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Augusta for over 50 years; serving as a VBS and AWANA leader, Sunday School Teacher, and member of the Harvest Home committee as well as anything else she could sign up to help with. When her children were young, she was active in the Russell Corners 4H Club.
In 2015, Lois moved to Bloomer and attended the Chippewa Valley Bible church; since accepting Christ as her Savior at the age of 9, religion was the cornerstone of everything that she did and she was always thankful for her church friends.
Lois enjoyed crocheting beautiful blankets for all of her family’s special milestones as well as sewing, ceramics, embroidery, gardening, baking sweet treats and listening to records on her record player. She loved to sit outside on her porch swing and feel the sun on her face, watch the birds in the trees and feel the breeze in her hair. She always had time for friends and family, chatting on the phone, visiting with them or sending letters just so they knew she was thinking about them.
Lois will be deeply and dearly missed by her 3 children, Denise Kuechenmeister of Chippewa Falls, Diane Smith of Tipton, Iowa and Dewayne Hall of Fall Creek; granddaughters, Angie (Steve) Olseen, Shannon (David) Rose, Jenny (Thor) Thorson, Alisha (Shawn Petersen) Hall, Jessica Hall, Melissa (Brian Torsper) Smith, Jenny (Tim) Kuhnert, Stephanie (Jason) Borchert, Megan Hall and Kristie Walker. Also left to mourn Lois is 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as her brother Larry (Liz) Howe of Lake City and sister in law, Donna LaPoint of Eau Claire, many nieces, nephews and friends that became family. Oh, we can’t forget her granddog Zoey!
She was greeted in heaven by her husband Douglas Hall who passed away in 2001; sons-in-law, Jeff Smith and Jerry Kuechenmeister; parents Frank and Niada Howe; siblings, Lester (Janice) Howe, Lucille Howe, Len Howe and Loren (Ann) Howe; and brother-in-law, Harold LaPoint .
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chippewa Valley Bible Church, 531 E. South Ave. Chippewa Falls, with pastor Troy Solava officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Monday at the church.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Vita Care in Bloomer . The assistance they gave to Lois in such a loving way will never be forgotten, her Vita Care family meant the world to her. We would also like to thank the team with Heartland Hospice for their gentle care, support and compassion that brought peace to Lois and her family during this difficult time.
