Giles Evans Turner, 86, of Augusta, passed away surrounded by his loving family early Saturday morning, January 25, 2025.
A life well lived! Surely we know what that looks like, thanks to Giles’ example! He led a full life as a beloved husband of 65 years to Bunny, a loving father to Tracy, Libby (Mark), and Tyler (Rita). He was a wonderful grandpa to 8 grandchildren; Chapin, Chad, Whitley, Chelsey, Bryar, Nicole, Joellen and Curtis, for 17 great grandchildren, and to a special gal, Whitney. He often stated that he was blessed that they lived close enough so that he got to know and love each one of them!
He will be remembered for his love of family, fishing with them and many others at their cabin on Fish Lake, as an active member of the Augusta Lions Club, and for his dealings at antique toy shows where he made many good friends over the years. He was a talented builder in the area for over 50 years, and enjoyed hunting for antique treasures wherever he and Bunny traveled.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Augusta Lions Hall at 200 E. Lincoln Street in Augusta.
Following the service a celebration of Giles’ life will continue until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Lions Hall.
