Harold Walker
Harold “Butch” Walker

Harold Lloyd Walker Jr., but known as Butch to his family and friends passed away Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, at the age of 73 years, 6 months and 20 days.

Butch was born on July 3, 1951, in Neillsville, WI, son of Harold Sr. and Velda (Asplin) Walker. The first 8 years of his life was spent in Willard where he attended a one room school house. The family then moved to Osseo where he finished his education.

Butch was very mischevious and with friends he was always up to some kind of trouble and pranks. Butch didn’t like school and usually more absent than attending, but he did graduate in 1969 from Osseo-Fairchild High School.

On November 26, 1997, Butch was united in marriage to Vicki (Bloom) Kittelson. The two had been high school sweethearts that had gone separate ways, only to be reunited 10 years before tying the knot and blending the two families.

Butch held various jobs and out of high school worked at Plombon’s Volkswagen in Eau Claire and JBI in Osseo. He also sold cars for Zimbrick in Madison, a dealership in Menomonie and Gross Motors in Marshfield. He had owned and operated Butch’s Bar in Osseo, (currently Burly n Bucks) before purchasing Pine View Tavern between Osseo and Fairchild which he also named Butch’s.

The 25 year job that he loved the most was being his own boss painting interior and exterior of buildings. He loved staying busy and had only recently retired a year and a half ago.

Butch had always enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing in Wisconsin, especially when sharing this time with his sons. Over the years his health didn’t allow him to do a lot of activities he would have wanted, but still looked forward to spending time outdoors, plowing snow, doing what he could and always with his faithful companion Willie by his side.

Butch will be dearly missed by his wife Vicki who he had shared over 40 plus wonderful years with; 3 sons, Damian Walker of Altoona, Dustin Walker (Jody Frye) of Osseo and Dominic (Ashley) Walker of Eau Claire; step daughter, Ashley Kittelson, (Marc Lenfant) of Chippewa Falls; 5 grandchildren, Landon and Chase Walker, Devon Walker, Easton and Emma Lenfant; brother, Jim (Jeannie) Walker of Temperance, Michigan; sister, Yvonne “Bonnie” (Jeff) Massey of Lodi, brothers and sisters in law, Carole Rice, Janice(John)Fryatt and Deborah(Dally)Peterson;. WI; canine companion Willie; additional family and friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Velda Walker; his father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Margaret Bloom; brothers-in-law, Gary Bloom and Bren Rice.

A Celebration of Butch’s Life is being planned for later in the spring with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, rural Fairchild.
